CTU OFFERS WORKSHOPS TO ENHANCE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATIONS—03/08/14
The Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTL) secretary general, Bernadette Lewis, believes one of the biggest challenges to the region is getting people to believe in their dreams. To encourage citizens to use the power of innovation to spur ICT-enabled development in the Caribbean, the CTL has planned workshops meant to accelerate entrepreneurship in the region through technology.

LOCAL APP DEVELOPERS SEEK $20 MILLION IN REVENUE—03/12/14
The award winning mobile crime alert application, Crimebot, is expecting to generate as much as $20 million in revenues, while also helping to reduce Jamaica’s crime rate. The app was among 160 entries at the Digital Jam 3.0 competition in March 2014. The team plans to provide the app for free to users but is looking to generate revenue from advertising.
