GRENADA HOSTS INNOVATION WORKSHOP—03/18/14
Workshops that form part of a broad initiative of the World Bank are being implemented throughout the Caribbean. Grenada is the latest location of the Caribbean Communications Infrastructure Program (CARCIP) workshop suite designed to encourage the use of technology to spur innovation and development. CARCIP uses upgraded Internet and telecommunications technology to address the needs of countries in the Caribbean. The workshops have been held 21 times in 18 countries in the area to date.
JAMAICA RECEIVES AID FOR CYBERSECURITY STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT—03/20/14
The Organization of American States (OAS) is working with Jamaican authorities to create a national cybersecurity strategy. The Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE), a part of the OAS, visited Kingston to provide technical aid in developing such a strategy. The CICTE Cyber Security Program will be coordinating the initiative with Jamaica’s Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining.
